Dear Cub Scout Leaders: Please find attached four items of interest as we begin the new Scouting year: 2007-2008 Pack 1116 Calendar List of Volunteer positions  we need to fill Copy of the flyer  that will go to first – third grade boys next week Items of interest re: Fall Popcorn Sales Where we really need your help is in volunteering for the various slots to help make the Pack and the individual events run better. At present, we only have one confirmed volunteer – Buck Surdu – for the December Pack meeting. So, please, talk to the parents in your Dens and encourage them to sign up early for something they will enjoy! In regard to the popcorn sales, you will note in the attachment that we have plenty of the glossy sales flyers this year that you can pick up for your Den to help with the selling. You will also see that there are some excellent donation programs to help the U.S. Military wounded from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Note that these programs don’t require that you physically handle even one bag as everything goes straight to the soldiers. We really need volunteers to help with the popcorn effort. You will also see that the first event for the year is the beginning of the year picnic and I would like to encourage you to talk to as many parents as possible about this event. We have focused in on the grades 1-3, but new students and older students should come as well. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you again as we start off another great year of Scouting!
