Treasurer’s Report

Misc.: --Popcorn sales will continue at the Pinewood Derby, 21 Jan

--Den Leaders should advise Cliff H. if belt loops or rank advancement awards are required for the upcoming Blue and Gold Banquet

--Den leaders should canvas dens for interest in the Wizards Basketball Scout Night (tickets are $20 or $24), 25 February (Daryl H. will coordinate). Also, there is an opportunity to go to a Monster Jam Truck Rally on the weekend of 14 Jan. Any interest? Please contact Leigh.

Pinewood Derby: A practice session is scheduled for 7 January 10:00-2:00, at the Presbyterian Annex (located across the street from Whole Foods Market). It is an opportunity to test derby cars on the track, to weigh the cars, use a drill press, get help with weights, etc.

Pinewood Derby will be held in the VPC Activity Center (3rd Floor of VPC) on 1/21. The event will take the place of the regularly scheduled Pack meeting. Dens should plan to seek volunteers for the Bake Sale to be held at the derby. Stay tuned for specific times and other details.

Blue and Gold Banquet: This year’s banquet will be an international-themed potluck on the 17 February. Each den will be responsible for representing the culinary highlights of a particular country. Additionally, each den is requested to provide 8-10 pictures, in JPEG format on a CD, for the slide show. Please bring your den’s CD to the February Leader’s Meeting. John S. will pull the slide show together and Jim B. will provide viewing/projection equipment.

Additional details regarding the Blue and Gold: It will probably be held in VPC’s new Great Hall. An Eagle Scout will likely be a featured speaker, the VPC Pastor and Wolftrap’s Principal will also be invited to say a few words.

Goshen Summer Camp: The coordinator is still waiting for registration forms, although they may be available to be distributed at the Pinewood Derby. The Goshen Summer Camp provides an opportunity for the older cub scouts (Bears and Webelo) to experience an overnight summer camp.
